The Dowina factory is located between Bratislava and Vienna.
The production started in 1979. To begin with tha factory started to manufacture violins. Gradually, they built up their know-how, experience and intuition. The result was fantastic instruments. Inspired by the violin makers' knowledge, guitar production was also started. A crucial factor for the quality is the choice of wood material.
Dowina picks wood material from the Dolomites in the Alps - Val di Fiemme. Wood with extraordinary resonance properties. They also use selected Sitka and Cedar from Alaska and from the western parts of the United States. This, together with their great professional skills, results in unique guitars where the feeling, tone and appearance are outstanding for their actual price range.
Dowina Rustica - solid top - Antique series
Puella is part of the Antique Series with a solid top of Cedar from Canada. Back and sides of sapele. The neck of Nato is very similar to mahogany. This is an acoustic guitar that surprises with its fine tone. It feels like it's a hand-built guitar, built by skilled professionals. It has volume, sound and clarity in the tone.
It is nice to play on with its matte finish. Especially the back of the neck makes a difference. The hand slides more easily than on a glossy surface. The string height is low to be an acoustic guitar - the neck is relatively thin and quite narrow, so it is easy to play and comfortable.
Subtle design and many shapes to choose from make Rustica one of the most popular guitars in our Antique series. High quality solid cedar top delivers robust and strong sound.
