The Artesound EF86 is built inside a cabinet made of solid larch wood selected and worked entirely by hand with great attention to detail. Both the front and rear control panels are characterized by a satin gray finish while the handle on the top is made of real leather. With a total weight of 7 kg and dimensions of 20 x 40 x 20 cm, this head is surprisingly easy to handle and transport. On the rear the amplifier has the power input, two speaker outputs depending on the impedance of the speaker that will be used, and finally a grill that allows ventilation of the valves.

Artesound EF86 Control Panel and Functionality

Being a single-channel head, the main panel of the Artesound EF86 features a single input. On the left, there are the gain switch (Low and High), a low-frequency filter (Bass), a knob for the general volume (Volume) and finally a knob for the high-frequency cut (Cut). The small number of controls make this head very intuitive but still versatile at the same time, while the hand-made point-to-point circuit includes two EL-84 power tubes and two preamps, the EF86 and the 12AX7 respectively. The 20W of the head can be managed by the Volume control and the Low and High switch to fully exploit the amplifier both in the studio, at home and even on larger stages. Thanks to the impedance selector on the rear panel, it is possible to connect the head to one or two 8 or 16 Ohm speakers.
